1. Read this before you buy
This Risk Notice describes the main risks of using the MARKET CHOP site and of acquiring, holding, trading or claiming MCHOP. It forms part of the Terms of Use. It is not exhaustive: other risks, including ones nobody has anticipated, may materialise.
Only use money you can afford to lose entirely, without it affecting your life. If you do not understand these risks, do not buy MCHOP.
2. Value and price
- MCHOP is a meme token. It has no intrinsic value, no revenue, no assets behind it, no issuer obligation and no redemption right. Its price is set only by what the next buyer is willing to pay.
- Prices of meme tokens are extremely volatile and can fall by most or all of their value within minutes. Historically, most meme tokens have lost almost all of their value.
- The sale price says nothing about the market price after listing. The market price may open, and stay, below it.
- Large holders — including early buyers, the treasury, the liquidity reserve and team allocations — can sell at any time and move the price sharply.
3. Liquidity
- There may be no market, or too thin a market, to sell MCHOP at any price you would accept. Liquidity can be withdrawn or can fall sharply.
- Selling large amounts into thin liquidity causes heavy slippage. The 3% trading tax applies on top of it.
- Whether and for how long pool liquidity is locked has not been finally decided. Until it is published on the Treasury page, assume it is not locked.
- No exchange is obliged to list MCHOP, and any listing may be removed.
4. Holder rewards
- Rewards are funded only by the trading tax. No trading means no rewards. There is no other source and no reserve that guarantees them.
- The share of tax proceeds going to holders is set by the project multisig, can be changed at any time and can be zero. At launch it may be zero until the project decides otherwise.
- Any period may pay nothing. Rewards may be discontinued permanently, without notice.
- Your share depends on your balance at readings taken at unpredictable blocks, relative to everyone else's. It cannot be predicted in advance, and holding does not guarantee any amount.
- Rewards are computed by off-chain software. A computation can be wrong; a root can be revoked; claims can be paused. A revoked root cannot be claimed against, and a correction may give you less than you expected.
- You must claim rewards yourself and pay the network fee to do so. For small amounts the fee can exceed the reward.
- Tokens held on an exchange, in a liquidity pool or in any contract earn nothing for you.
- Distributions of this kind may be treated by some regulators as a financial product. A regulatory finding or a legal opinion could force rewards to stop, to change, or never to start.
5. The sale
- The sale runs on PinkSale, a third-party launchpad. Its contracts, website and rules are outside our control, and failures, bugs or changes there affect your contribution directly.
- If the sale fails, refunds depend entirely on the PinkSale pool contract working as intended.
- Token claims after the sale, the moment trading opens and the listing price depend on steps performed in sequence by different parties. Delays and failures are possible.
- Whitelist access is discretionary and does not guarantee an allocation. Timings can change.
- Scammers copy sale pages and addresses. Anything sent to an address other than the official pool published on the Site is lost.
6. Smart contracts and admin keys
- The Contracts may contain bugs or vulnerabilities that lead to loss or freezing of funds. A review or audit reduces this risk; it does not remove it. The contracts may not have been audited by an independent firm.
- The Contracts are not upgradeable. A bug may be impossible to fix; the only remedies may be pausing claims or moving to new contracts.
- A project multisig and role keys control important parameters: the trading tax (up to a 5% ceiling), the fee-exempt list, liquidity pairs, the fee split, reward roots and pausing. If those keys are lost, compromised or misused, holders can be harmed — including by the loss of every unclaimed reward held by the distributor.
- Contracts you approve outside the Site, including fake MCHOP contracts, can drain your wallet.
7. The blockchain
- Robinhood Chain is a new network. Its sequencer, bridges and infrastructure may be centralised, may halt, may censor or reorder transactions, and may fail.
- Chain reorganisations, forks, congestion and outages can delay, reorder or invalidate transactions and can affect reward readings.
- Network fees vary and may make small transactions uneconomic.
- Advances in cryptography or attacks on the network could compromise its security.
8. Your wallet and security
- If you lose your private key or seed phrase, your tokens are gone. Nobody can restore them.
- Phishing sites, fake support accounts, malicious airdrops and impersonators target holders. We will never ask for your seed phrase or ask you to send funds.
- Transactions are irreversible. A mistake in an address, network or amount cannot be undone.
9. Legal, regulatory and tax
- The legal status of tokens like MCHOP, and of distributions to their holders, is unsettled and differs between countries. A regulator or court could classify MCHOP or its rewards as a security or other regulated product, with consequences for you and for the project, including restrictions on holding, trading or claiming, or the shutdown of the Site.
- Laws may change, including with retroactive effect. Exchanges, wallets and service providers may refuse to support MCHOP.
- Using the Site from a restricted jurisdiction breaches the Terms and may breach your local law. The absence of a technical block does not make it lawful.
- You are solely responsible for any taxes on buying, selling, holding or receiving MCHOP or rewards, and for reporting them. Tax treatment is uncertain and may be unfavourable.
10. The project
- MARKET CHOP is run by a small group of independent contributors, not by a regulated company. There is currently no legal entity behind it, which may limit any remedy you have.
- The contributors may stop working on the project at any time. The Site may go offline, and the programmes may end.
- Data shown on the Site is derived from the blockchain by software, may be delayed or wrong, and is not financial reporting. It is not audited.
- You do not receive the disclosures, protections or recourse that come with regulated investments, and no deposit-insurance or investor-compensation scheme applies.
- Nothing we say about plans is a promise. Plans change.
11. Third parties
The Site depends on services we do not control — PinkSale, decentralised exchanges and routers, RPC providers, block explorers, wallet software and X. Changes, outages, policies or failures of any of them may stop you from buying, selling, claiming or taking part in programmes. MARKET CHOP is not affiliated with Robinhood Markets, Inc., PinkSale, X Corp. or Uniswap.
